Pilots
Pilots can be obtained in Events, usually requiring you to obtain a certain number of points in an event, to unlock the purchase with Crystals or Drone Tickets.
Adding a pilot gives you additional features. These vary from pilot to pilot (see below for details).
When you own a pilot, it will default to level 1. The pilot can be upgraded to a maximum level 20.
To increase the pilot's level, you need to increase their Experience Points. The pilot's Experience is added based on the EXP you earn each match. Each pilot earns 1 EXP for every 30 seconds they play.
Each pilot has a default of 50 energy. Each match that the pilot participates in will lose energy. This amount depends on the game mode, but is usually 10. Once a pilot has less than 10 energy, it cannot be used in a game. Any pilot owned remains yours, but needs to be recharged before use.
Players can only equip 1 main pilot and up to 2 co-pilots with sufficient energy before a match. A Low Energy warning will appear when Energy < 10.
To equip your pilot(s), click on the Pilot icon in the top left of the screen in the Campaign level select screen or PvP mode screen. From here, click the Squad button. You can now fill each of the three slots by selecting the slot, then selecting the pilot you wish to put in that slot. As long as your pilot has at least 10 energy, they will participate in the next match.
Recharging
Pilots will slowly recharge themselves over time, gaining 1 energy every 15 minutes. You can manually fully recharge a pilot using an Energy Pack. Energy Packs can be obtained in Daily Quests, Chests and other Events.

Squads
A Squad consists of a Captain and two Co-Pilots. Each Co-Pilot added to your squad increase the Captain's skill stats by 1% for each level that Co-Pilot is (up to a maximum of 40%, given each Co-Pilot can have a maximum level of 20).
For example, if your Captain has a skill of "Increase 30% damage of Bomb Booster", and you have 2 Co-Pilots, one at Level 10 and the other at Level 15, this will increase the Captain's skill by 10+15 = 25%, thus increasing the bomb booster damage to 30 x 1.25 = 37.5%.
If your three pilots match one of the predefined Pilot Squads, they will inherit additional passive skills. The full squad list, along with associated skills are as follows:
