Deflector allows you to evade all attacks. When you get hit by aliens/projectiles, if you are lucky Deflector will kick in. You will see "MISS" appear on screen instead of losing a life, and will remain invulnerable for 3 seconds.
The chance of Deflector triggering is as follows:

Deflector is a must-have Expert Item. It can also be reused multiple times, unlike Chronosphere.
