Thunder Totem produces two pairs of drones that sit at the side of the screen. Between each pair, an electrical cord is generated. The cord stops and starts a few times. This cord blocks all projectiles from the player. It doesn't however, block laser beams (such as from [[Phantom]], [[Terminator]] or [[Legendary]]). Alien projectiles can pass through the cords freely.
